Exploring the Nexus of Workplace Spirituality: A Bibliometric Analysis

Abstract

This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of Workplace Spirituality (WPS) research to examine its intellectual structure, emerging themes, and research trends. A total of 610 English-language articles indexed in Scopus and Web of Science from 1998–2024 were analyzed using Biblioshiny in RStudio’s Bibliometrix package. The findings reveal significant growth in WPS research, with the highest publications recorded in 2021. Neha Garg emerged as the most influential author, while the Journal of Management, Spirituality & Religion was the leading journal. The USA and India contributed the most publications and citations. Major themes include workplace spirituality, job satisfaction, spiritual leadership, and Islamic workplace spirituality. The study offers valuable insights for scholars, policymakers, and organizations seeking future research directions and innovative HR practices.
